Testimonials

December 2012

Dear friends at Memory Care at Seven Lakes,

I would first like to express our gratitude for the kindness and care you have shown my mother. It is far too easy to focus on the negative, and far too often we fail to point ourt the positive. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my concerns. More importantly, I would like to express my gratitude for all you do for my mother daily.

You listen and you act. Any concerns I've had you have listened to and have worked hard to get things changed, fixed, or have taken the time to explain to me when I don't understand.

Barb is a wonderful office manager! Barb works hard to put me in contact with the right people, to keep me informed, and she always has a beautiful smile on her face. Sara is a blessing! She does a wonderful job keeping Mom's room clean. She is always very sweet to Mom and works hard to keep Mom's room and the entire community in tip top shape. Bravo! Darlene does a wonderful job getting orders from the doctors, keeping me informed, and maintaining awareness with how Mom is doing. Thank you.

The dining experience is second to none!! The meals served our family members are delicious! Additionally, the food is served up in the kitchen and delivered to the dining room. Mom enjoys her meals and is not distracted by constant noise from clanking dishes or chatter between caregivers. Instead, she sits quietly and enjoys her meals while listening to the nice ladies she is seated with. Mom doesn't talk much these days, but she does listen. I will ask her when I am there why she isn't joining in the conversation and she will whisper to me, "I'm just listening". The smile on her face tells me she is happy and comfortable, this is priceless.

Seven Lakes outings cannot be beat! I have had the pleasure of joining in on a few of these outings. If you have not been one of these trips, I encourage you to do so. I have to say, the ride on the bus is every bit as fun as that which is had at the destination. Jennifer, Josh, and Victoria have so much fun laughing and telling stories!! I look around the bus and I see nothing but smiles. I have so many pictures of Mom on the bus just grinning from ear to ear. You have three totally amazing people in Jennifer, Victoria, and Josh. They look after our family and get them on the bus safely and look out for them.

Lastly, there is no way I will ever lose weight if I keep coming to your brunches, holiday meals, or family councils. I've never witnessed anyone asking for recipes from any of the other facilities Mother has lived. I walk away stuffed every time because the food is so delicious.

I don't have the memory I used to have, so I'm not good at names. I wish I could name all the care givers who have gone out of their way to care for Mom. Please express to everyone how much it means to me to know Mom is safe and cared for by your amazing caregivers.

I look forward to many more happy memories and the support you all give. I know Mom will change and it will be difficult for me at best. Having all of you, knowing you are there for us makes all the difference in the world to me. Thank you one and all.

Peace and blessings,

Shy G.
